We are committed to creating social, environmental, and economic connections that generate real benefits, reducing the impact on the community we belong to, always aligned with learning through doing. We show children and young people that the place they arrive at every morning is also their home, and that the connection they develop today will shape the outcomes they will experience in their adult lives. We seek for our students to become agents of social, environmental, and economic change in Valle de Bravo, first and foremost, and throughout the world, as is fitting in this era.
Since the founding of Waldorf Los Caracoles in 2004, the school has been integrated with the surrounding community. We firmly believe that it is crucial for the community to see you as an ally in improving everyone's quality of life. One of the concrete mechanisms we have for integration is offering children and young people from the area the opportunity to receive a high-quality education in the humanities, social sciences, scientific, and academic foundations. This is the origin of the following initiative:
Getting to know one another and strengthening bonds nurtures and reinforces our relationships. Recognizing that we are united by our children invites us to share this stage of life, by creating a healthy social environment for everyone.
Therefore, the participation of parents from Waldorf Los Caracoles is essential. As families and as a community, we can experience actions that embody our contribution to the care and love for others and for life on Earth.
We have achieved this by creating programs for conscious consumption, preparing homemade foods, composting, and organizing conferences on social, environmental, and spiritual topics. All of these are carried out and facilitated by Caracoles parents, to be shared with the entire community.
We have developed a support scheme to integrate children and young people from the rural community where Waldorf Los Caracoles is located. This is a concrete way of creating a positive impact on the education of all students, from Kindergarten through Primary and Secondary levels.
The program is based on the altruistic donation of resources to cover the annual fee (or a portion) for a school-aged child or young person. Since we continuously develop community work programs, we have identified families who are well integrated, free from domestic violence, with a desire for self-improvement, and interested in participating in our educational model.
The results and experiences gained over these 15 years of operation, for all our students and their families, have been highly positive: coexistence, tolerance, respect, and recognition of others beyond their financial capacities are essential elements of ethical formation for life within our institution.
